Many thanks to Mark and his family for hosting the BRC Xmas Party and thanks to the many members who attended and contributed to the BRC AGM. For those of you who missed the Xmas Party the new committee for 2011 is as follows:
President Marty Hourigan
Treasurer Glenn Carthy
Secretary Nigel Joyce
Committee Member Graham Baxter
Committee Member Mark James
Committee Member Michael Battaini
The web site has now been updated with these details.
On behalf of members, I would like to thank the previous committee for all their hard work during the year, most notably, a 15% increase in membership. I hope this year we can do at least as well.
Safe Climbing and have a Happy New Year
The next ACAQ meeting will be held at Pinnacle Sport, Shop 3/160 Musgrave Road, Red Hill starting at 7pm. All BRC subscribers are welcome to attend. Have your say about the direction of the ACAQ and issues such as crag access, liason with National Parks, Climbers code of Conduct etc. See the Australian Climbing Association website for more information or to list an agenda item: http://www.climb.org.au/index.php?page_id=6&action=view&uid=2921#2921
Update on availability: Camping places are disappearing fast.
Brooyar camp site availability is down to 49 on the Saturday night and 40 on the Sunday night. Giraween availability is down to 69 on the Saturday night and 68 on the Sunday night. Please refer to the club emails for further information.
Brooyar - Veronica;
Kaputar - Dennis;
Giraween - Glenn Carthy.
PS Kangaroo Point looks good for climbing tonight
If you are planning to join the club for the trip to Giraween you should think about booking your campsite very soon. It is currently 60% booked out on the Saturday and Sunday nights and nearly always books out well before the week-end. The availablility at Brooyar is currently good but a group booking can change that very quickly.
